Question about transportation in New Jersey/New York (+BQ)?

Marhta Teahan: Ugh. It's a pain in the @ss to reach Six Flags from Atlantic City. You have to take the #551 bus all the way to the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, and then take the #318 bus to Six Flags. Unfortunately, there's no easier way. You can take the #559 to Lakewood, then take the #64, #67, #130, #132, #136, or #139 to Freehold. (The #130, #132, #136, and #139 go to NYC, so I'm not sure if they allow travel within NJ. But I know the #64 & #67 do). Then at Freehold, you have to take the #307 bus to Six Flags. If you go through Camden, the fare is $7.30 for the #551, and $40.50 for a Theme Park/Safari Package and a ticket for the #318 bus (It's $12 if you want the bus ticket alone)If you go through Freehold, the fare is $10.80 to get to Freehold. For some reason, they don't say the fare to get to Six Flags, but I think it's like $6, and if you show your bus ticket, you'll get a discount on admission to the park. (So it's roughly the same fare whether you! go through Camden or Freehold)To get to NYC, you have to take the #319 bus. It's easier because it's just one bus, but it's still a long trip. The round-trip fare is $39. NYC is basically the closest New York city to New Jersey. As for sports, well, I'm not a big sports fan, but that sounds right. There may also be some who support the NY Mets for baseball, and the NY Jets for football.I hope this information was very helpful....Show more

Rickey Vrieze: For football, some support the Jets, but it is a running joke that most of the Jets fans want to support the Giants, but can't get tickets to Giants games. Don't know how true that is.When my family lived in NJ, they supported the Mets baseball time. For NBA and NHL, I would assume the teams that are actually in NJ (Nets and Devils), but I don't really know. For sports without NJ teams, as a general guideline, residents living in area code 609 support Philadelphia teams and residents living in area codes 201, 973, etc., support NYC teams. This is not an absolute rule....Show more
